Alright.  Made the commitment that 2009 will be another year go growth in the old racing career.  Cat’d up in September.  Put the ol’ 4 on the license.  Then i looked in the mirror after cross season and wow.  Time to get the tonnage back down.  Commitment to get below 175.  Put the bike in trainer and getting the time to drive down the weight.  Back to the training after the first of the year…

But i have to say.  The temps hit almost 50 today so i had to get outside with the bike.  I have to say, nice to have a ride just to ride!

Hope everyone is well that reads here.  Happy holidays for what every you celebrate!

So i wake up at 6 AM to the sound of my cellphone ringing… its my wife… 6 AM calls from the wife are NEVER GOOD when you are away from home.  But that’s another story…

So Squidly and I arrive at Pineland farms around 830 ready to race. (LOL)  MY DOG was is cold… quick change, register and hit the trail… and what a surprise, they made the course a little “easier”.  Well, if you aren’t fat and out of shape it might have been.  Same start, down hill on the pavement.  Hard right, hard left and then the barriers… off camber then into the woods!  Another off camber, accross the berm, then back into the woods.  What a nice ride down, back up, down then onto the run up.  Half the size of last year, but still sucked.  Prolly has a lot to do with the extra tonage on my ass.  once back on the bike after the run up things should be good right?? NOT… seems that you have to ride uphill for a bit.  One of those hills that gets steeper and longer every damn time you have to do it.

so it was a good race, Squidly got 5th, i had and 11th.  then came the BEER and sitting in the sun watching everyone else suffer!!!

in all a GREAT day to be on a bike!

TIM GETS LIP FROM HECKLERS AND GIVES IT RIGHT BACK, PROVING THAT HE IS NOT RIDING FAST ENOUGH TO ATTAIN OXYGEN DEBT!!! IF YOU'RE ABLE TO TALK YOU'RE SUCKING TOO MUCH!!! BEST EVER-PRESENT PAIN FACE FTW!!!

TIM GETS LIP FROM HECKLERS AND GIVES IT RIGHT BACK, PROVING THAT HE IS NOT RIDING FAST ENOUGH TO ATTAIN OXYGEN DEBT!!! Fat Squid

Ok, so i dont usually Rant about politics in public just because… But I have had enough!

so you want to know how bad the economy is…

well this “Joe six pack” just went to “main street”, not “wall Street” to buy a USA made Chevy for his stay at home Soccer mom.  With my 800+ credit score, financing with a company that I have received and paid off 5 car loans in the last 5 years, i STILL had to go through a new credit check and employment verification.

thank you Washington folks!!!

McCain / Palin 2008!!!  Please Give me 4 more years of this crap!!!

Guess my wife needs to be a Hockey mom instead of a soccer mom!

My political rant of the day!

So its been a while… hope everyone is doing well. been watching some of the results and looks like everyone has been doing well. Great top showings at Fitchburg!!!

The world has been treating me well, New promotion in February that has kept me off the bike for a while! Didn’t really start riding till the end of May! As of Memorial Day weekend I had about 300 miles and did my first group ride that weekend, and by then i was just a big fat guy

Good news is that the job is starting to level off and getting under control. Back on the bike every Saturday and Sunday and usually catching a day during the week. I figure it wont take me long to work off the spare…

By all accounts it looks like less then 2 month till CROSS. Really looking forward to it! Check out my new bike!!! Looking forward to getting it out!!!

And every sack had seven cats

And every cat had seven kits

Kits, cats, sacks, wives

so I got back on the bike, for a week.  Then i got what ever it was that had been getting passed around.  Holy crap did it suck.  If you had it, i feel sorry for you, if you didn’t, count your blessings!  You just cant kick it!!  At one point i actually thought I was going to cough up my left lung.

So needless to say I haven’t been on the bike, for a VERY LONG TIME!!!  And now i see everyone posting on the board, and on their blogs about early riding in RI and Mass.   So yesterday was a nice, around 50 degree day,  and of course stuck at work.  That’s cool though, I am off this weekend right…  Well I got up this morning and hey, look at that, snow!!!  SUCK!!!

I think that maybe I need to come hang with the boys in Mass and get some ridin done!!!

MADRID (Reuters) – A Spanish driver who collided with a cyclist is suing the dead youth’s family $29,300 for the damage the impact of his body did to his luxury car, a Spanish newspaper reported on Friday.Businessman Tomas Delgado says 17-year-old Enaitz Iriondo caused $20,500 of damage to his Audi A8 in the fatal 2004 crash in La Rioja region, the El Pais newspaper reported.

Delgado, who has faced no criminal charges for the incident, wants a further 6,000 euros to cover the cost of hiring another vehicle while his car was being repaired, El Pais said.

The youth had been cycling alone at night without reflective clothing or a helmet, according to a police report cited by El Pais.

His family won 33,000 euros compensation from Delgado’s insurance company after the firm acknowledged he had been driving at excessive speed and this could have contributed to the incident, El Pais reported.

“I’m also a victim in all of this, you can’t fix the lad’s problems, but you can fix mine,” Delgado told the newspaper, ahead of a January 30 legal decision on his suit.

The family said they had previously pitied Delgado for the guilt he must feel at killing their son but were now disgusted that his greatest concern appeared to be money.

“This was the final straw, a kick in the teeth,” the youth’s mother Rosa Trinidad told El Pais.
