well here I am one year from my last post…  Needless to say 2009 wasn’t one of my better years either personally, professionally or athletically.  Looking for 2010 to be a little better.

started today for real, training for my resurrection of my running career.  Yup, for some god damn reason i decided that running a marathon this year might be a fun idea, so here I go.  New sneakers and all, I am off an running!

So, running for now, riding will come, so check back if your interested!

So i wake up at 6 AM to the sound of my cellphone ringing… its my wife… 6 AM calls from the wife are NEVER GOOD when you are away from home.  But that’s another story…

So Squidly and I arrive at Pineland farms around 830 ready to race. (LOL)  MY DOG was is cold… quick change, register and hit the trail… and what a surprise, they made the course a little “easier”.  Well, if you aren’t fat and out of shape it might have been.  Same start, down hill on the pavement.  Hard right, hard left and then the barriers… off camber then into the woods!  Another off camber, accross the berm, then back into the woods.  What a nice ride down, back up, down then onto the run up.  Half the size of last year, but still sucked.  Prolly has a lot to do with the extra tonage on my ass.  once back on the bike after the run up things should be good right?? NOT… seems that you have to ride uphill for a bit.  One of those hills that gets steeper and longer every damn time you have to do it.

so it was a good race, Squidly got 5th, i had and 11th.  then came the BEER and sitting in the sun watching everyone else suffer!!!

in all a GREAT day to be on a bike!

TIM GETS LIP FROM HECKLERS AND GIVES IT RIGHT BACK, PROVING THAT HE IS NOT RIDING FAST ENOUGH TO ATTAIN OXYGEN DEBT!!! IF YOU'RE ABLE TO TALK YOU'RE SUCKING TOO MUCH!!! BEST EVER-PRESENT PAIN FACE FTW!!!

TIM GETS LIP FROM HECKLERS AND GIVES IT RIGHT BACK, PROVING THAT HE IS NOT RIDING FAST ENOUGH TO ATTAIN OXYGEN DEBT!!! Fat Squid

so I got back on the bike, for a week.  Then i got what ever it was that had been getting passed around.  Holy crap did it suck.  If you had it, i feel sorry for you, if you didn’t, count your blessings!  You just cant kick it!!  At one point i actually thought I was going to cough up my left lung.

So needless to say I haven’t been on the bike, for a VERY LONG TIME!!!  And now i see everyone posting on the board, and on their blogs about early riding in RI and Mass.   So yesterday was a nice, around 50 degree day,  and of course stuck at work.  That’s cool though, I am off this weekend right…  Well I got up this morning and hey, look at that, snow!!!  SUCK!!!

I think that maybe I need to come hang with the boys in Mass and get some ridin done!!!

If you happen to get yourself to Maine early in the season

Southern Maine Cycling Club Scarborough Criterium Series
April 6th-May 25th, 8AM – First Race
SMCC hosts an eight week Crit series starting in April in the Scarborough Industrial Park. This race training series is open to all. The first race each day, the “B” race, starts at 8:00 am sharp and will go 12 laps. The “A” race will start right after and go 20 laps.

Chances are really good that it will still be snowing by then… makes for an interesting morning of racing!!!

So here is my race report from Lowell for 11/18/07…

Well anyway, let me say great job to everyone ELSE for a good job at Lowell today!!! I will say that today wasn’t a great day for me… boy if that isn’t an understatement. I didn’t exactly bring my A game, for that matter it wasn’t even my C game… At least i reinforced a valuable lesson today, cycling is 90% mental, and today I paid that price. Oh well… GREAT to see everyone today, sorry I couldn’t make it down to the party, had to get back to Maine for the kids… See you all again soon…

I think i can…I think i can…I think i can… its actually time to race again… Time for the pain, the anguish, the love of the race~~~

So i wanted to get it out in the open right now!!

Reasons why i will suck at Lowell

  1. I haven’t raced since Gloucester….
  2. haven’t been on a bike for over a week
  3. doesn’t look like i will able to ride before Sunday…
  4. my back hurts
  5. i’m a sissy

so that is my list of excuses for now for why i will prolly suck on Sunday… But I will be there!!! Time to put on your best pain face and RACE!!dsc_0105.jpg

Dumb trivia for today… Americans eat 700 million pounds of Peanut butter every year!
